A concentrated selection of images from a unique Hungarian online picture database focuses on the late 1980s when the Hungarian market and political reforms could be an example for the more rigid Czechoslovakian regime. At the time, Czechoslovaks used to travel to Hungary for concerts of western rock stars and for the latest fashion fads. The database also includes photographs of Prague and the Tatras or pictures of Škoda and LIAZ cars.
The resulting installation should reflect both the key words associated with the political and cultural situation of those years and the anomalies and intersections between the two countries. It is expected to combine new digital prints in smaller and large formats and video projection.
