In her work, Dóri Lázár reflects on how plans, interests, and actions of institutions, political parties, trading groups, and religious groups produce different analogies between the nation and its symbols. Her totem-like installation refers to birds that have a strong function in political imagery. The birds are represented as small heroes, put on a pedestal in an imaginary museum. Brought together in an absurd manner, this assembly of significant birds reveals how they have been captured in ideological cages.
Dóri Lázár’s work explores the connection between analogue and digital photography, imagery-making and its spatial presentations, using showcasing-options as a medium as well as a technique. She often combines different elements of her installations, experimenting with their connections and interactions.
